Our Mission

Caring for your loved one during the next chapter in their life.

About Tomlinson Assited Living and Adult Foster Care

Our Assisted Living and Adult Foster Care program is for ambulatory individuals aged 55 and older or can be moved around by a wheelchair. These individuals may have diabetes, dementia, or complications from strokes and other medical issues that would prevent them from living at home.

We believe that the most essential service you will receive at our home is the exceptional quality care your loved one will get 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The special attention to the needs and wants of our residents and the experience and patience of our staff will help make this challenging time of transition more manageable for you and, more importantly, your loved one.

Our home is entirely handicap accessible, including a wheelchair accessible shower. Residents have a beautiful country view from all rooms, and décor throughout the home adds a nice touch of the vintage days of old.

Activites

  • Arts & Crafts
  • Board Games

Tomlinson Assisted Living offers residents who are interested and physically able weekly opportunities to get out of the home and go sightseeing (Port Huron has many excellent sites, including Blue Water bridges, Port Huron lighthouse, and three small museums), shopping, or tag along. At the same time, we run errands during the week.

These outings are another way we help our residents interact with people outside the home and give them some normality (mobility is something we take for granted).

Family Opportunities

Beyond the standard services we provide our residents, we also offer you, as a family member, the opportunity to have a party or family outing at the home with their loved ones. The outside deck/yard, second family room, or dining room could be used for such occasions.

We encourage family members to stop in and have lunch or dinner with their loved ones (please let us know an hour or two before so that we can prepare extra food).

We may allow our residents to bring unique furniture or items for their rooms that might help them be more comfortable in their new setting.

WHAT OUR RESIDENTS SAY

Our current and former residents have to say about Tomlinson Assisted Living.

My Dad is a resident/family member at Tomlinson Assisted Living. It has been an excellent experience for Dad and our family. Dad is well cared for by a great staff. He receives good and dignified assistance with personal care. Meals are homemade and delicious. The rooms are well-kept. The surroundings are beautiful. Take the time to visit and consider this home for your loved one. You’ll be pleased with your decision.

I give the Tomlinson house a 5-star rating! When my Mother and I were looking for a place for my Dad, we came across the Tomlinson House. We were both very impressed that it smelled so fresh when we walked in, and the decor made it feel very homey. We knew right then this was the place!  My Dad was there for three months in 2020. When we visited him, he was always clean and happy there. The staff was very friendly, kind, and compassionate. The other clients looked happy, clean, and were treated with respect.

The staff at Tomlinson Assisted Living is exceptional. They treat my dad as if he were their dad as well. They are so close that he talks about them being his adopted family. Having a stroke that immobilized his left side and gave him memory issues has created a high-stress and anxiety situation for him. The staff at Tomlinson go above and beyond personalized quality care with a Doctor who comes into the house to check on the residents.
